Mission Statement Our primary mission is to manage and maintain quality public roads, parks, trails, storm drains, open space, and other infrastructure for the residents of Laguna Woods, Laguna Hills, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, and Dana Point, thus enhancing many quality of life issues that directly impact their residences, businesses and the local environment.
OC Public Works accomplishes its mission through goals, which serve to both guide department staff in performance of their tasks and communicate the value OC Public Works provides to the communities it, serves.
Applicable OC Public Works's goals are:
Flood/Storm Fighting: Protect Contract City areas from the threat and damage of flooding. Provide emergency response to a variety of storm conditions or devastation caused by inclement weather.
Roads: Provide a safe and efficient roadway system within the contract cities.
Parks: Provide high quality local recreation facilities that are safe and well maintained.
Infrastructure: Maintain efficient and effective City facilities in a safe condition.
Municipal Client Services: For those clients in Contract City areas of Dana Point, Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, and Mission Viejo, OC Public Works functions as the "Operations And Maintenance" department.
As such we provide maintenance activities for

street, sidewalk and curb & gutter maintenance
special pavement maintenance
right of way inspection
